Downtown ready to kick off the new year

Downtown Ellensburg is poised and ready for an outstanding 2015. Last year, we averaged one business opening every month. That’s 12 new or expanded businesses that infused new energy and exciting diversity into the area, including clothing, specialty items, residential rental space, and dining. A look at low vacancy rates and building sales also provide a good indicator of the economic vitality we’re experiencing in our hometown.
So what’s in store for this year? Let me give you a bit of a sneak peek. We have even more new businesses opening, growing events, and some great partnerships.
We are continuing to welcome businesses downtown. The rehabilitation of the Elks Building on Fifth Avenue and Main Street and the Kleinberg Building on Pearl Street promises more space for all your shopping and dining needs. The Porch Steakhouse opened last week, making it one of the first of hopefully many new downtown businesses of 2015.
