Celebrating the Big ONE: Cornerstone Pie Hosts One Year Anniversary Birthday Bash

Written by: Mia Patterson, Account Executive

Most small businesses only dream of making it past their first year, and being successful along the way. With Cornerstone Pie celebrating their one year anniversary Saturday, October 18th, owners Mark Holloway and Donna Malek certainly have a lot to be thankful for. With music pouring from their newly built stage and customers participating in the various activities, it was certainly a night to remember. The Cornerstone Pie team participated in drumming up awareness for the birthday bash by tabling at Central Washington University and distributing flyers the week prior to the celebration. Even 88.1 The ‘Burg distributed party information at the CWU Wildcat Homecoming football game that took place earlier in the afternoon. Needless to say, it was a day full of events that brought the community together to rejoice in the successes of the local business.

The steady and consistent flow of customers through the door all day was an excellent indicator as to how well the festivities were going. The raffle, the live music, the dancers, the food; were all factors in making this birthday spectacular one the town will not forget. The evening concluded with a champagne toast and the singing of “Happy Birthday” to Mark, Donna and Cornerstone Pie.

Moving forward from the party, it is speculated that the staff of Cornerstone Pie will be eagerly awaiting their second birthday next year. With CCA assisting in the promotions and awareness campaigns, one can only wait to see what Mark and Donna will bring to the table next.
