CWU Agency Members Among First to Participate in CPPR Test Written by: Taylor Burbank

Central Washington University’s PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) Chapter is proud to be among the first to prepare for the much-anticipated Certificate in the Principles of Public Relations. CPPR is the baby sister accreditation to APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) which is commonly sought after by established public relations professionals.

The CPPR exam can only be taken within six months of graduation, and can only be taken if the student has attended a prep session. CWU’s PRSSA will be hosting the only prep session in Washington State on April 26, 2014. The prep session will span four hours and cover everything you would ever need to know about public relations.

An accreditation of this sort is more than beneficial to students. CPPR allows students to distinguish themselves within the workforce, and to further educate themselves on PR practices. It is also a great glimpse at the APR exam, which most will be pursuing later in their careers.

As graduating students about to enter the workforce, many CWU students are eager to take this test. With public relations being such a competitive industry, these students are doing everything possible to help increase their chances of finding a job post-graduation.
